Statement by the Nations’ Front for the Right to Self-Determination Regarding the Rejection of Reza Pahlavi’s Participation in the Munich Security Conference
The Nations’ Front for the Right to Self-Determination once again emphasizes that the only legitimate representatives of the nations under Iranian occupation are national organizations and true representatives of these nations, who are struggling to achieve their historical rights and their right to self-determination.
In this context, the participation of individuals such as Reza Pahlavi in the Munich Security Conference, under any title, is not only completely illegitimate but also a blatant insult to the oppressed nations that have been victims of the colonial policies and genocides perpetrated by the Pahlavi regime and the Islamic Republic over the past century. These individuals are not representatives of the nations; they are part of the oppressive and criminal machinery and should be prosecuted in international courts for their crimes against humanity.
The hundred-year history of the political geography known as Iran is clear evidence of the suppression, massacres, genocides, and destruction of the identity of non-Persian nations. These racist and colonial policies, which began during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi and continue under the current Islamic Republic regime, are rooted in a fascist and inhumane ideology systematically enforced against the Arab, Kurdish, Baloch, South Azerbaijani Turk, Turkmen, and other nations. Therefore, any attempt to rebuild the structure called “Iran” without recognizing the right to self-determination for the occupied nations and without acknowledging a century of crimes by successive regimes is nothing but a continuation of the same colonial and chauvinistic system. Such an approach would not only be a double injustice to the oppressed nations but also a blatant violation of human rights. The presence of figures such as Reza Pahlavi at the Munich Security Conference undermines the credibility of this conference.
We reiterate that Reza Pahlavi and other Iranian political figures who, over the past century, have preserved this colonial and oppressive structure through policies of suppression and genocide, are neither representatives nor advocates of these nations. They must be held accountable in international courts for their crimes, and the historical rights of the nations must be restored to their rightful owners.
The Nations’ Front for the Right to Self-Determination firmly declares that the future of the nations under Iranian occupation can only be realized through the end of occupation, recognition of the right to self-determination, and the establishment of independent national states.
